Hello!
My name is Abri, and in February of 2025, I began my business, AE Frees Wellness (previously El Roi Wellness). I started my journey after the traumatic death of mine and my husband’s firstborn, Judah Tyler Frees. In the aftermath of losing Judah, simply put, I lost myself. I got stuck in a place of extreme darkness and suffering, dealing with severe panic attacks, major depression, postpartum paranoia and difficulty sleeping and eating (all resulting in me being later diagnosed with PTSD). Thankfully, that’s not where my story ended.
After a seemingly hopeless and difficult journey through a broken system to find the right things and people to support my mental and spiritual/emotional health, I discovered my purpose—to shine the light I had found back for others trying to find their way out of their own darkness, and to walk with them on their own journeys of healing and wellness.
This purpose (along with the desire to honor my son in some way) led me to seek education and licensure in massage therapy, and I graduated from the esteemed Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in Longmont, CO in January of 2025, passing the MBLEx exam and becoming a licensed massage therapist that same month.
During my massage program, I found out that I was pregnant again, this time with our precious daughter, Macie Savannah Frees. I had the honor and privilege of carrying her through most of my time in the program. However, the day after Thanksgiving 2024, I delivered her sleeping. Our loss of Macie shook my reality once more, this time in a much deeper but more quiet way. I still knew my purpose was what it had been revealed to me as before. But this time I had some serious questions.
In my search for answers, I came across the Grit & Grace 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program at Buka Yoga in Castle Rock, CO. After reading the description of the program, I knew that this program was my next step. Though I wasn’t entirely sure what had led me to this yogic journey (particularly to a program focused on teaching yoga), I knew that they had a focus on meditation, and that had become a meaningful practice to me at that time. So, I continued on my journey and joined the 200-hour YTT program, this time in honor of my baby girl, Macie. I am proud to say that in June of 2025 I graduated from this program and am now also a certified and registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.
Now that you know my story, let me tell you a little about my heart at AE Frees Wellness. Here at AE Frees Wellness, I seek to promote healing, wellness and ease in the lives of my clients, in partnership with the natural pathways of healing and wellness in the human body. I believe that where there is ease, there is opportunity for a long, full life. I’m excited to partner with you on your wellness journey!
